CAROL SING

AT

HISTORIC PEACECHURCH

The Friends of Historic Peace Church will present the Annual Christmas Carol Sing at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Church. The church will be decorated for the season and heated for the occasion, however, dress warmly as it is a 209 year old building!  Admission is free but seating is limited to 225 people. Doors will be open at 7 p.m.

Historically costumed members of the Friends will conduct a “Nine Lessons and Carols” service. The candlelight program will include Bible readings accompanied by sacred music performed by the Peace Church Chorale. Norma Swain will direct and accompany the program on the church’s 1807 Conrad Doll Organ.

This year, in addition to selections by the Peace Church Chorale, we are privileged to present the Cedar Cliff High School Chamber Singers, a 35-voice acapella choir, directed by Jim Hoffmann.  What an experience this will be, with antiphonal singing of music of the season.  Early arrival is suggested for seating.

Peace Church is a 209 year old limestone sanctuary located on the corner of St. John’s Church and Trindle Roads near Camp Hill. It is maintained as a museum by the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission and is open on Sunday Afternoons from June through September for free tours and cultural events. Parking is available in the office lot directly across St. John’s Church Road; handicapped parking is available behind the Resource Center (formerly the Gift Shop).
