Gospel Concert at  PeaceChurch

The Good News Gospel Group will give a concert at3 p.m.Sunday,July 27, 2008atHistoricPeaceChurch, Trindle andSt. John’sChurch Roads in Hampden Twp. 

Sunday’s program includes traditional gospel songs, camp meeting hymns and instrumentals performed in the bluegrass style, such as “The Old Country Church”,  “Fountain Free”, “Climbing Up The Ladder”, “In the Garden”, and “The Old Rugged Cross”. 

The Good News Gospel Group formed as a group of friends nearly 30 years ago. They called themselves the Good News because they sing only Gospel Music and Gospel Music is Good News. The group performs at churches, retirement centers, fire halls or wherever they are asked to play. They trust in God to lead them to their next program. They just want to have fun praising the Lord.   

The Group consists of Joan Hess, vocals & guitar; Glen Deardorff, mandolin & vocals; Wally Foreman, bass & lead; Marlin Henry, banjo & vocals; Charles Miller, harmonica, juce harp & vocals; Ron Henry, guitar,  fiddle & vocals.  

Admission is free. No reservations are necessary. Handicapped access is available behind the resource center. Seating is limited to approximately 225 people. Parking is available on the office lot directly across St. John’s Church Road. For more information call 422-5486.
